About Ahlers Loft

PigeonRaceAnalyser is built by a racing pigeon fancier, for racing pigeon fanciers. No company, no investors, no catch — just one loft trying to make better sense of race results, and sharing the tools for free.

Who's behind it

I'm Morne, and I fly under the name Ahlers Loft in South Africa, racing in the TPA. I'm a fancier first — I'm not a professional software developer. Everything here started at my own loft, with my own birds, trying to answer the questions every fancier asks on a Friday night: which birds do I send, and how will the conditions treat them?

Why I built it

I kept staring at my evaluation lists wondering the same thing — a bird clocks a brilliant velocity, but was that into a headwind or carried home on a tailwind? The result sheet doesn't tell you. So I started pulling the wind along each race route and lining it up against how my birds actually performed. Once I could see which birds ground it out into a headwind and which only shone with the wind behind them, picking a race team got a lot less like guessing.

That little wind project turned into a habit, and the habit turned into a tool. Then I figured every other fancier is squinting at the same sheets I am — so why not make it something anyone can use. That's the whole origin: a problem at my own loft, solved for myself first, then opened up to everyone.

What it grew into

One tool became a workshop. Today PigeonRaceAnalyser reads your race results and builds a per-bird wind profile, forecasts race-day weather along the route, and includes a grain feed-mix calculator, a velocity calculator, a One Loft Races tracker, a manual pedigree builder, a plain-language health & disease guide, basketing-day lists, and a space-weather Kp toss guide for young-bird training. Every piece was added because I wanted it for my own racing.

What I promise you

• Free. The tools cost nothing to use. A small, low-key advert and the odd sponsor keep the lights on so the app can stay free.
• Private. Your race data stays on your own device — it's not uploaded to a server, and there's no account to create.
• Honest. I'd rather tell you what the data actually shows than sell hype. When something doesn't affect race speed, the app says so — even when it would be flashier to pretend otherwise.
• By a fancier, for fanciers. If a feature doesn't help at the loft, it doesn't ship.
